SGVF and DOST set up a training program for technology entrepreneurs

Last July 12, 2012 the SGV Foundation (SGVF) and the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) signed a memorandum of agreement for a DOST-Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) Open Technology Business Incubator (TBI) project.

Secretary Mario G. Montejo, Undersecretary for Scientific and Technological Services Fortunato T. de la Peña, Technology Resource Center Director General Dennis L. Cunanan, Planning and Evaluation Services (PES) Director Bernie S. Justimbaste, and PES Program Coordination and Monitoring Division Chief Cynthia Abalos from the DOST were present. The SGVF representatives in attendance were Chairman and President Cirilo P. Noel, Vice Chairman and Executive Vice President J. Carlitos G. Cruz, Corporate Secretary Emmanuel C. Alcantara, and Executive Director Marlu V. Balmaceda. SGV & Co. was represented by Transaction Advisory Services Managing Director Bernadette T. Cauan and Tax Principal Jules E. Riego.

The SGVF shall conduct training programs in coordination with the DOST’s Technology Resource Center. The objective of the program is to assist technology entrepreneurs of the TBI program in potential business ventures through an Accounting and Finance Management Program as well as learning and mentoring sessions on accountancy and management systems.

DOST-PEZA Open TBI companies that will go through the training program are Serbizyo International Co. Ltd., Metaheli Management Information, ATX Global Solutions and Consultancy Services, Orchestronix Corporation, Sparkscom Technologies Corporation, Version 791 Inc., Solutions Resource, and Stride Consulting Inc.
