Research and Development

In 1974, the SGVF intensified its involvement in development efforts by sponsoring research in the economic, scientific, and technical fields. Most notable among these projects are the sponsorship from 1977-1979 of the Bishops-Businessmen's Conference for Human Development, a project that organized an action research team to develop management cases on the theme of human development in business management, and the preparation of a textbook on structural sign language for the Southeast Asian Institute for the Deaf.

Following are the projects of SGVF:

  • Train the Trainors Seminar for the Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA)
  • PICPA Training Programs
  • Cut Flower Conferences in Manila, Davao, Bacolod, and Baguio
  • Food Processing Enterprise at Don Severino Agricultural College
  • Consultative Workshops on Livelihood Programs
  • Development of the Curriculum for an Agribusiness Course in Central Philippine University
  • Computer Audit and Controls classes for UE in Kalookan, Philippines Christian University and PUP
  • Summer Internship for Outstanding Computer Science Juniors
  • Basic Business Skills Course for Small Enterprise in the Microfund Communities on Los Baņos, Laguna, and Kawit, Cavite
  • Entrepreneurship Practicum Program at Ateneo de Zamboanga
  • Livelihood Project of Ateneo de Zamboanga
  • Survey of HRM practices in the Philippines in cooperation with the Personnel Management Association of the Philippines
  • Co - Sponsorship of seminars on Miriam - P.E.A.C.E
  • Conduct of development programs for various government agencies
  • Study on informational requirements of the Philippine Medical Care Commission

The Foundation has approximately spent P12.5M for the various projects.
