  Professorial Chairs
As envisioned, the professorial chair grants were to make three distinct contributions to development efforts. They would benefit the economy by harnessing available expertise for national development. They would provide the chairholders with the opportunity and the means to grow professionally while ultimately sharing their expertise and experience with the community. Finally, they would reinforce the efforts of academic institutions to develop and retain indigenous talent within their own faculties.
