The SGV Foundation supported the publication of the book "Moving People to Win,"

The UE– SGVF Accounting Policy Research Center
SGVF sponsored an Accounting Policy Research Center at the University of the East in the amount of PhP3,000,000. The center was named The UE- SGVF Accounting Policy Research Center.  The research center shall exist for ten years beginning on the first semester of school year 2004-2005. This term  may be extended upon the mutual agreement of the University of the East and the SGVF Foundation.  The earnings from the fund shall be used for research and development on Accounting and Auditing (including hiring of Experts and Specialists) which further the knowledge and development of accounting concepts and skills.

UST Alfredo M. Velayo College of Accountancy
The University of Santo Tomas (UST) formally opened the UST-Alfredo M. Velayo College of Accountancy last 21 June. The college, named in honor of SGV Co-founder and SGV Foundation Chairman Emeritus Fred Velayo (AMV), is the first degree-granting unit of UST to be named after a private individual. It was created on 10 November 2004 and began accepting students this month to its Bachelor of Science in Accounting degree program.

The SGV Foundation assisted in the fund-raising drive and was able to contribute significantly to the target fund of PhP100  million by tapping Foundation friends such as former SGV partners, SGV alumni groups, and individual alumni.

Corporate Network Disaster Response
As part of the Firm’s Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives, the SGV Foundation  signed a memorandum of agreement (MOA) with the Corporate Network for Disaster Response (CNDR) and Buklod Tao, Inc. last 12 February. The MOA launches a joint disaster preparedness project for the community relocated in Barangay Banaba, San Mateo, Rizal. The project includes education, preparation for emergency response, mitigation work, advocacy, and project management.

Retired Partners’ Scholarship Grants
The SGVF Retired Partners’ Scholarship Grants were established to honor the retired partners of SyCip Gorres Velayo & Co. by granting scholarships in their name to worthy beneficiaries.

The SGV Foundation has allocated PhP200,000 for each retired partner. Only the annual interest income earned will be remitted to scholars of each retired partner.

National Disaster Coordinating Council
The SGVF acted as conduit for the PhP 1million donation of SGV & Co. to  the  National Disaster Coordinating Council.

Gawad Kaling Davao
SGVF donated PhP200,000 to Gawad Kalinga-Davao for the construction of houses for their shelter program called TATAG
.

Gold Quill Award
The SGV Foundation was awarded a Gold Quill Award on 10 March 2005 at the Ayala Museum.  SGVF received an Award of Excellence (the top award for a category) for the Entrepreneur Of The Year (EOY) Philippines 2003 program.  The EOY Philippines 2003 program was nominated for the Communication Management Category - Economic, Social and Environmental Development.

The Gold Quill Awards Philippines is an annual recognition given by the International Association of Business Communicators, a global group of professionals in corporate communications and public relations.  Communication programs developed in 2003 to 2004 qualified for the Gold Quill Awards 2005.

Ronald McDonald House of Charities
SGVF donated PhP30,000 to the Ronald McDonald House of Charities for sponsoring a play entitled “Wizard of Oz”  on 20 November  2004.  The proceeds of the event will be used in the renovation of the Philippine General Hospital Pediatric Ward 11.

International School Manila
SGVF donated PhP25,000 to International School Manila for their 85th year anniversary.

Philippine Business for Social Progress
SGVF donated  PhP 10,000 to the Philippine Business for Social Progress for their Olango Island Development program.

National Book Development Board 
SGVF donated PhP10,000 to National Book Development Board  (NBDB). NBDB  celebrated  the 9th Philippine Book Development Month in June.  The event, which focuses national attention on the significant role of books in the intellectual, technical, and cultural development of  Filipinos, proves to be a memorable one as all sectors of the community, private, government, and NGOs were mobilized for this purpose.

University of the East Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Medical Center (UERMMMC) Red Cross Medical Mission
UERMMMC held a medical-dental mission to Calaoit Island, Palawan on  24-30, 2005.  Calaoit Island is part of the Wild Life Reserve project under the Palawan Council for Sustainable Development (PCSD) and holds a community of locals designated to be caretakers of the animals, making them relatively isolated from the city.

SGVF donated PhP10,000 for the project.

PARFUND
The Philippine Agrarian Reform Foundation for National Development, Inc. (PARFUND) is in the process of establishing a Peace Center in Mindanao. The Center is envisioned to be a venue for capability-building for the rural poor and the indigenous eople of Mindanao.

The Center will serve as a venue for the various dialogues and formal talks related to the Peace Process between the Government of the Republic of the Philippines and the Mindanao-based communist group called the Rebulusyunaryong Partido ng Manggagawa sa Mindanaw.

SGVF donated PhP10,000 for the project.

Foundation for Adolescent Development, INC.
SGVF donated PhP20,000 the Foundation for Adolescent Development, Inc. for the Dial-a-Friend program.

Congregation of Our Lady of Mount Carmel
SGVF donated PhP5,000 to the Congregation of Our Lady of Mount Carmel.
