CIVICUS

SGVF participated in the 3rd CIVICUS World Assembly
held in the Philippines on September 21-24, 1999.
SGVF also sponsored a dinner for some participants
of the CIVICUS World Assembly at Mr. SyCip's residence.

Affiliations
League
of Corporate Foundations (LCF)
The Foundation is a member of LCF. And in so doing,
SGVF is able to network with other corporate foundations
in promoting and supporting social development projects.
Association
of Foundations
The SGV Foundation is a member of the Association of
Foundations, a pioneer non-government organizations
network in the Philippines involved in the areas of
art and culture, education, health, science and technology,
as well as human and social development. Its charter
provides for "fostering broader understanding of the
nature of foundations as institutions in nation-building,"
and, more significantly, a mandate to serve as a nerve
center of information.
Makati
NGO Network
The SGV Foundation is a member of the Makati NGO Network,
an umbrella organization working for a better quality
of life for residents in Makati, especially the marginalized
groups.
Philippine
Council for NGO Certification (PCNC)
The SGV Foundation applied for accreditation with PCNC
as a donee institution, as required by the Bureau of
Internal Revenue. A team of evaluators organized by
PCNC evaluated and assessed its projects. The evaluation
included a review of documents, and an interview with
officers and staff of SGVF.
On February 21, 2000, SGVF became an accredited donee
institution. The Bureau of Internal Revenue later issued
a certificate of registration to the Firm, valid for
three years.
CIVICUS
CIVICUS is an international alliance dedicated to strengthening
citizen action and civil society throughout the world.
As a non-sectarian, non-partisan world alliance, CIVICUS
is uniquely positioned as a catalyst in bringing together
organizations and representatives from civil society,
government, and business. These gatherings are designed
to promote partnerships and alliances among civil society
organizations and the three sectors.
